Chapter 3 test Wednesday  Feb 24th ( should be day 3)  Students were asked to bring their textbooks home Tuesday Feb 16th and read over Chapter 3.  Students have notes to read over for this Chapter 3 test.  We will continue to hear the final Drug Project Presentations in the next couple of  classes.  We have also started the Career Cruising overview, and the students will receive their usernames and passwords soon.

Stay tuned for this next major project to be completed in Health class.  It is a unit called, ” Career Cruising “, and it challenges the students to think about what jobs/careers they may be interested in.  It is a continuation of grade 7 Health, and the students will also be expected to increase their knowledge next year in grade 9. This will carry on into High School as well, where they will be asked to develop a “career portfolio”.  Much of this project is computer based and will be done in the computer labs at Stonepark.

Our Health class has been working hard on completing their Drug Project Presentations.  Initailly, they were going to research 15 different types of drugs and save it in a word perfect document.  We decided as a class, that we would learn how to transfer the information and pictures from word perfect to Corel Presentations ( slide show application).  This would make the Presentation to the class more effective for all of the students.  Each student completed a title page and a reference page along with the 15 slides for each drug.  We should be finished with the presentations this week.

We have been working hard on our drug project-presentations. We are in the computer lab this week for 3 classes. Many students will be near completion after this week. Due date has now been moved to Jan. 15th.

On November 23rd, we introduced a Drug Research Project in class.  So far, we have had three computer classes to work on the project.  An outline of this project was given to each student explaining how to complete project and there is a place on the sheet for a parent/guardian signature.  Please have a look at it and sign the sheet.  Due date is Dec 7th.  This is based on us booking the computer lab at least two more times.

Welcome to this site.  I have created this site to help students organize and prepare for upcoming assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects.  Students are still expected to write their school work down in their notebooks and or calanders.  I will try to keep this site up to date.  I will not be putting daily work assignments on this blog, rather a weekly summary of what we have been working on in various subjects, as well as due dates for projects, assignments and tests.  Also, any other important reminders to both students and parents.
