Students are asked to do a slideshow project on ” The Group of Seven “.  Due date.  Oct 29th. ( gr. 7/8)

Also, ” personal glossary ” worksheet due Oct 17th

Each Student in grades 5,6,7,& 8 will be asked to e-mail me their topic for this years Science Fair Project.  They will be given some class time to think of some “good project ideas”.  Due date for e-mail is Monday Oct 20th.  ( mjkelly@edu.pe.ca ).

Note:  A representative from Maritime Electric will be presenting to the grade 5/6 class on Oct 29th.  The topic is, ” potential hazards of electricity “.

Grade 5/6 science projects were handed in to me today via my memory stick.  Next week, the students will begin their presentations of these projects.  ( Science)

Social Studies:  We completed a unit on the Confederation Bridge and are presently working on an “Internet assignment” that focus on other ” Bridges ” in the world.  ie.  George Washington Bridge.  This assignment is to be completed ” in class “.  Due date Oct 10th.

Our School Counsellor did a lesson on bullying this week with the 5/6 class.

All students in Science and Social Studies were able to complete their projects.  Way to go. (gr. 7/8)

Mini research project assignment due Wednesday Oct 8th. ( Science , gr. 7/8)

The next several classes will be student presentations of their science projects. ( Gr. 7/8).

I Introduced all the classes to my blog today.  I ask all of them to put it in the bookmark files and to tell their parents/guardian’s about the site and how to access the site.

Welcome to this site.  I have created this site to help students organize and prepare for upcoming assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects.  Students are still expected to write their school work down in their student handbooks.  I will try to keep this site up to date.  I will not be putting daily work assignments on this blog, rather a weekly summary of what we have been working on in various subjects, as well as due dates for projects, assignments and tests.  Also, any other important reminders to both students and parents.
